RICHARD L. BURKHALTER

Richard began his career with A. E. Staley Manufacturing Company as a process engineer where his responsibilities were process studies in both corn and soybean operations. His career then progressed through more than 20 years in engineering and production management for several major corporations. He then entered the consulting engineering field with a Chicago based firm. In 1995, he founded Covenant Engineering Services, Inc. where he currently serves as president/CEO. His special field of experiences are: project engineering and project management, engineering management; process and plant design for lube oil blending and lubricating grease compounding; asphalt blending and shipping; vegetable oil, fat, and fatty acid processing, corn wet milling and syrup conversions; grain handling and processing. He has served as Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering at the College of the Ozarks for three years.
Richard is a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Illinois and Missouri. He has authored and presented six technical papers at the annual NGLI (National Lubricating Grease Institute) conference, all of which were published in the NLGI Spokesman. He was a member of NLGI for over 30 years and served on the Board of Directors for 18 years. He is also a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He served more than 27 years in the US Army/US Army Reserves/IL ARNG and retired at the rank of Colonel. Richard and his wife Margaret reside in Branson, Missouri. Richard was inducted into the Academy in 2009.
